

April showers foretell May Flowers!
Actually the flowers are already in my mind and on my drawing board, so it's time for the showers to stop!!!! There is a lot of flooding around the Ozarks and the rain has continued all through the day . . .actually for the past few days . . .makes us all say "Enough already!!! The Poppy drawing is still under construction. Karen suggests making the stem visible, but I'm not sure I want to do that. It goes in the "ponder a bit more" pile. So I missed a couple of "Hump Day" entries ... not a problem, right?
Holy Week was very busy, and although I did do some "art", I didn't take time to reflect on it in my blog. We came up to Kansas City on Tuesday and I did get a bit of art in. Of course the week started out with painted Easter Eggs! I started my single poppy colored pencil drawing while I sat the Gallery last week, then worked on it at Karen's on Friday, and kept trying to get contrast while I drank coffee on the porch and/or chatted with Tina and Pam on the phone. The Children's Art Show at the TRAG Gallery is now a memory. As usual, the children's art was inspiring. My art for the weekend was painting faces -- fun, but an interesting challenge! Monday, we adult artists had to re-hang our own art on the panel assignments for April through June. My expectation for myself is that what I hang has to be new work. I had to "cheat" just a bit to accomplish that this quarter. Although I actually drew Hostas and Violets last spring while
